Local Bloke with a Big Van

For this project, I was required to design a logotype for a new courier service based on the Mornington Peninsula, called ‘Local Bloke with a Big Van’. The aim was to create a distinctive stamp-styled logo that would be visually attractive and eye-catching when applied to vehicle signage, brand stationery, advertisements and various other media.

My client and I decided to use black and white for maximum contrast and legibility, and a touch of vibrant lime green (PMS 375 C) to instantly capture the viewer’s attention. The linework positioned behind the typography is the map outline of the Mornington Peninsula - having the map as an outline instead of a filled shape allows the bold lettering to stand out more against the subtlety of the linework.

The composition of the typography and map outline within the logotype was structured in a way that would work well both on its own or with the rough circular stamp in the background. Providing my client with an alternative logo allows them to be able to utilise whichever design they feel is best for different advertising purposes. A textured version was also included as an option for them to use.
