Mornington Peninsula Brewery

It was an honour to have been given the opportunity to redesign the blackboards and live music line-up mural for Mornington Peninsula Brewery over the course of two years - it's always a pleasure to not only do what I'm most passionate about, but also to support local businesses on the peninsula!

The symbol used in the Mornington Peninsula Brewery's logo design derives from a medieval alchemy sign for Aurum Potabile; meaning 'drinkable gold'. For this reason, I chose to design the blackboards and mural with a gold, black and white colour scheme instead of the previous blue, black and white designs.

For each of the blackboards and mural, I created the layout with pencil and then finalised the designs with Uni POSCA markers. Though this process was slightly more time-consuming than simply diving straight in with the markers, I felt it was the best and safest way as I wanted to ensure the lettering was consistent and evenly spaced out.

Disclaimer: This mural design above isn't my work, I've just included it to show the Aurum Potabile symbol and the black and gold identity of MPB.

Here's some behind the scenes footage of me working on the Mornington Peninsula Brewery blackboard lettering.
